I was one of the few pen pals in my town with a service-connected job. I have met thousands of people, all over the world, and I can tell you this: the relationships have been good. But it all started with one pen pal. When I graduated from high school, I needed to decide what I was going to do with my life. I'd never wanted to be a professional artist, and when I did my first art show I was terrified that I'd end up making a career out of it. But I felt like I really liked it, and so I made the decision to move to Santa Fe to pursue it. I'd always loved the place, and so I decided to visit, see what it was like, and see if it would be fun to live there. I wanted to see the ocean.
