But he continued to be happy for me.

Dad is the kind of man who will do anything for a friend and his family. He would do anything for his sister. Dad and I, are the best of friends. His wife and sons, know he is the best thing in the world to them. He has a very special place in our hearts. When we were kids we used to call him "Dad." We were both very shy at the time. He was very much like my father in that way. I having a boyfriend in the army never really thought about what it would be like for him. I didn't really care if he married a japanese woman. I just wanted him to be happy. I didn't care if he got a wife who looked exactly like me. It's not that I had nothing in common with her but I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not being part of her life. That's how it always goes for me. It didn't help my dad though.
