The first thing I wanted to cover was the different ways that a female military member's life can change for the better. While some things are obvious, such as the military being an extremely competitive field and being forced to fight for your survival, others are not. Being in the military is a life changing experience, and as a young person, it can be the best job you could ever have. I was fortunate enough to be part of this group, so I can share what it has been like to be one of the "good girls," and why you should always keep an open mind. First of all, there are no bad choices. I had the choice of getting a "real" job and starting a family in the Navy or staying and learning how to survive on my own. I chose to stay, because I had a lot of friends that stayed, and I really did not want to get a job when I had no idea how to live off of my savings. I didn't want to be stuck in a position where I didn't know what I wanted to do, or where I had no other options. While there were a few people I dated who had better jobs than I did, none of them could have made a living as a stay at home mom. I was always so busy that I didn't see any reason why I couldn't make enough money to pay my rent. However, I don't regret the decision I made. There are definitely some days where I wish I had gone to college. I would have been able to learn how to be a professional mom. I don't know how things would have turned out, but I have a pretty good idea that we would be living the rest of our lives together.
